Johnny Depp's ex Vanessa Paradis and son Jack leave Paris while his trial continues

Johnny Depp's ex Vanessa Paradis and their son were seen heading out of Paris to head for the sunny South of France after her testimony was cancelled in Depp's libel trial

Johnny Depp is currently in London while his libel trial continues into its third week.

But his ex partner Vanessa Paradis and their son Jack, 18, were seen heading out of Paris to head for the sunny South of France on Friday.

The singer, 47, had been due to give her testimony in the trial last week but it was cancelled when NGN accepted that Depp had never been physically abusive towards her.

Depp has brought a libel case against NGN over a 2018 article in The Sun that branded him a "wife beater", which he strenuously denies.

Though she has not appeared in court, Vanessa has stood by her ex against claims that he abused Amber Heard.

She appeared to be heading for a weekend break with their teenage son.

Vanessa kept covered up in a baggy denim jacket and a pair of plaid trousers.

The mum-of-two sported a pair of camel coloured boots and a grey hat.

She carried a big grey and red bag, no doubt full of clothes ready for her break away.

Jack wore a pair of baggy brown cords and a white jumper.

While she didn't appear in court, Vanessa's witness statement was read out last week.

She said: "I have known Johnny for 25 years. We have been partners for 14 years and we raised our two children together.

"Through all these years I've known Johnny to be a kind, attentive, generous and non-violent person and father.

"On movie sets the actors, directors and entire crews adore him because he is humble and respectful to everyone, as well as being one of the best actors we've seen.

"I am aware of the allegations which Amber Heard has publicly accused Johnny of for more than four years now.

"This is nothing like the true Johnny I have known, and from my personal experience of many years, I can say he was never violent or abusive to me.

"I have seen that these outrageous statements have been really distressing and also caused damage to his career because unfortunately people have gone on believing these false facts.

"This is so upsetting as he has helped so many persons in his personal and professional life with kindness and generosity."

Lawyers for NGN are defending their case based on Heard's 14 allegations of abuse, which include claims of bust-ups between 2013 and 2016.

The actor has argued his ex-wife was abusive towards him during the marriage, which collapsed in 2016.

She has denied the counter-claims.
