Johnny Depp is reportedly being lined-up to star in Tim Burton's Netflix reboot of The Addams Family.
It comes after Warner Bros. asked Johnny to step down from his role as Gellert Grindlewald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise after he lost his 'wife-beater' libel case against The Sun.
He was subsequently recast as the villainous dark wizard by Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen.
Following the announcement, Johnny is said to be hotly tipped to be in the running for the role of Gomez Addams in director Burton's eagerly anticipated first Netflix adapation.
According to Small Screen 's sources, Burton believes that Depp would be the perfect fit for the part.
"It’s full steam ahead on Netflix’s The Addams Family," the insider said. "Tim Burton wants Johnny Depp to play Gomez Addams. He thinks he would do the role justice."
Another insider claimed Depp was already in 'talks' for the part, with the casting being Burton's idea.
The pair have worked together numerous times before with hit films Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd and Edward Scissorhands.
Tim Burton's The Addams Family project was first teased back in October.
It will be the director's first major live-action TV series.
Burton is said to be wanting to bring his own stamp on the ghoulish family by bringing them into modern times.
It's also claimed the story will be told through the eyes of daughter Wednesday Adams.
The news comes after a petition to remove Depp's ex-wife Amber Heard from Aquaman 2 reached over 1.5million signatures.
Her role as Mera in the superhero movie has been slammed by supporters of Depp who claim she be dropped from the franchise.
The petition titled "Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2" - which addressed producers Warner Bros - has been signed nearly 1,550,000 times. It's aim is to hit three million.
It was set up by fans who suggest she "systematically crusaded to ruin Depp in Hollywood" following their 2017 divorce.
While Amber recently told Entertainment Weekly she can't wait to start filming the movie which is scheduled for release in 2022.
She said: "I'm super excited about the amount of fan love and the amount of fan appreciation that Aquaman has acquired and that it has garnered so much excitement for Aquaman and Mera that it means we'll be coming back.
"I'm so excited to film that."
