Johnny Depp ‘begged Amber Heard to have a baby with him’

Amber Heard's acting coach has claimed the star told her Johnny Depp had urged her to have a baby with him as he wanted her "barefoot and pregnant – and at home".

Depp, 57, is suing News Group Newspapers for libel over a story published in The Sun in 2018 which branded him a "wife beater" - a claim which he strenuously denies.

Heard, 34, finished giving evidence at London's High Court yesterday and now her acting coach Kristina Sexton is testifying via video link from Australia.

In her witness statement, presented to the court, Sexton claimed Heard told her that Depp wanted to start a family but she didn't want to have a baby with someone who was struggling with addiction.

Sexton stated: "Amber and I talked about his addictions: she really wanted to stay and help him get better.

"She told me that he really wanted them to have children, but she was concerned about having a child with someone who was an addict.

"I remember her telling me that he wanted her 'barefoot and pregnant – and at home' and her saying, 'I'm not going off the pill. I don’t want to have kids with an addict'.

"We had this conversation a number of times over the course of their relationship."

During her testimony today, Sexton told the court she had never seen Depp be violent towards Heard but claimed the actress told her about some of the alleged abuse shortly before Heard filed for divorce in 2016.

Yesterday, Amber Heard's sister Whitney Henriquez's witness statement was presented to the court in which claimed she saw Depp punch Heard in the head "multiple times" during a row in March 2015 - a claim the actor has denied.

In her statement she also described the couple's rented home in Australia as looking like a scene from The Shining after Depp smeared the walls with blood.

During Heard's final day of questioning yesterday, she also mentioned the scene at the Australian house, during a trip there in March 2015.

The Aquaman star claimed she found blood dripping from the walls, a live bird indoors, broken glass and food smeared all over the home.

She also alleged Depp had tried to set fire to one of the sofas during a "rage".

Depp admitted scrawling on the walls in his own blood, claiming Heard severed the tip of his finger by throwing a glass bottle at him.

Heard alleged he caused the injury himself by smashing a plastic phone against the wall.

Depp has denied he was ever violent towards his ex-wife and has accused her of abusing him during their marriage.

Lawyers for NGN are defending their case based on Heard's 14 allegations of abuse, which include claims of bust-ups between 2013 and 2016.

The actor has argued his ex-wife was abusive towards him during the marriage, which collapsed in 2016.
