Joe Budden Denies Claim That He Asked Spotify For $250 Million Deal

In recent news, Andrew Schulz commented on a rumor he had heard that Joe Budden had asked for $250,000,000 from Spotify to license and distribute his podcast.

During an episode of the Joe Budden Podcast, Joe addressed the claim that Schulz had made on the Flagrant 2 Podcast regarding his canceled deal with Spotify. As it was noted above, Andrew said he had heard from the grapevine that Joe wanted $250 million.

Joe put Andrew on blast, saying how Andrew was just a “white man” on the “back of a Black king.” He also urged Andrew to “shut the f*ck up.” Joe went on to say that Andrew’s claim was very similar to Charlamagne’s rumor that he had asked for 30% from Complex when he left.

Budden claimed the rumors weren’t true. Budden joked that everyone should pretend he did ask for $250,000,000. Even if it was the case, who was Andrew and “this Indian dude” to talk about him anyway?

As it was previously reported, Joe Budden was in negotiations with Spotify to host his podcast, but the deal fell through at the last minute, although, the details for why it never went through have never been revealed.

In response to the controversy, The Breakfast Club co-host, Charlamagne Tha God, argued that it appeared as though Joe Budden was the type of person who knew his own value but didn’t know how to negotiate it in a way that would result in the desired outcome.

This all comes after the news of Spotify’s acquisition of Joe Rogan’s podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, which reportedly netted Joe $100,000,000. Brendan Schaub, however, during an episode of The Fighter And The Kid, noted how the amount was actually much higher.

In other news, Joe was in the headlines this year following the release of Logic’s new record, which the rapper claimed would be his last. During an interview, Logic said that Joe’s words made “people want to kill themselves.”

Joe later responded by claiming that Logic was “reverse bullying” him.
