Jennifer Lopez confessed she almost quit showbiz due to the specific beauty standards of the time.
The Get Right singer is known for youthful looks and endless curves but it wasn't always celebrated in Hollywood.
There were quite a few moments in her decades-long career where the intense criticism she was under almost had her running away from the spotlight.
JLo revealed: "There were many times where I was just like, I think I’m just going to quit.
"I had to really figure out who I was. And believe in that and not believe in anything else."
People mocked her curvy figure, including her shapely bum, at the beginning of her career.
At that time, there was less diversity when it came to people of colour as well as body shapes.

The Latina star added in her Netflix documentary Halftime: "When I started working, the beauty ideal was very thin, blonde, tall, not a lot of curves.
"I grew up around women with curves so it was nothing I was ever ashamed of. It was hard, when you think people think you’re a joke — like a punchline.
"But it wound up affecting things in a way that I never intended."
Even her fiancé Ben Affleck noticed the criticism she would receive over her body.
Speaking in the new documentary, he said: "I said to her once, ‘Doesn’t this bother you?’
"And she said, ‘I’m Latina, I’m a woman, I expected this’."
Jennifer's career first began in 1989 and ventured into acting in 1993. The star hit the jackpot with her role as Selena Quintanilla-Perez in Selena (1997).
She then released her debut studio album On the 6 in 1999.

The release of her documentary comes after she was awarded the MTV Movie and TV Award's Generation Award last week.
She even shed a few tears as she accepted the accolade and gave a cute shoutout to hubby-to-be Ben.
After wiping away some tears, she brought an end to her speech by joking: "Ben and everyone at home, wait for me to have dinner - I will be home by 7!"
She had been presented the gong by Vanessa Hudgens who then stepped aside as the audience saw a montage of J-Lo's classic film appearances over the years.
As the clip came to an end, Jenny took the time to thank "all the wonderful people I have been blessed to work with".
