Jennifer Lawrence's family's summer camp farm 'hit by fire as brother asks for help'

The summer camp that Jennifer Lawrence's family run from a farm in Kentucky was reportedly hit by a huge fire and her brother has asked for help in recouping their loss

Jennifer Lawrence 's family's summer camp has reportedly been partly destroyed in a fire.

The star's brother is now asking for help in recouping losses after the farm the family runs Camp Hi-Ho from was engulfed in flames.

TMZ reports that the farm in Simpsonville was hit by a fire on Friday and that the property's main barn was reduced to rubble and ashes.

The US site says that the barn served as a sanctuary for a number of activities staged by the Lawrences for the kids they welcome to camp each summer.

It is also said to have been a living and workspace for the family themselves.

In an email obtained by the publication, Hunger Games star J-Law's brother Blaine Lawrence, the owner and director of Camp Hi-Ho, reached out to parents of past campers to detail what had happened.

It's said that he explained how the barn housed an office space which he used, as well as a separate apartment that the family often used.

The barn also encompassed the stalls for their horses as well as an indoor riding area for campers and an indoor rock wall.

It also houses a native wildlife display centre, an arts and crafts area, a garage filled with farm equipment and a nurse's station.

All of it was lost in the blaze.

Blaine said in his email that there's a lot that wasn't lost in the fire, including an outdoor sports court and an archery range.

The camp also has a lake area, a tree fort, animal pastures and horse-riding trails.

Blaine is reported to have said in his email that while he's grateful no animals or people were hurt in the fire, the family is still devastated about what's happened.

It's said he's vowed to rebuild and open again in summer 2021.

Blaine is also said to have asked members of the community to donate toward the fundraiser to help repair the camp and bring it back.

Authorities are said to be investigating the cause of the fire.

It's thought the farm has been in Jennifer's family for years and she's made visits to it since becoming famous.
