Jennifer Aniston has been one of the biggest actors in Hollywood for more than 20 years.
From her role as Rachel Green in Friends - which at $1million dollars an episode made her one of the highest ever paid TV actresses - to lead parts in films The Break-Up and Dumplin' Jen has maintained her position on the A-list.
She still commands huge audiences and her immense star power has seen her on the most wanted lists for huge brands.
And the 51-year-old is regarded as one of the most beautiful women in the world.
But Jen, who most recently starred in Apples The Morning Show, admits she has never viewed herself as attractive.
Her issues seem to stem from her difficult relationship with her mother, Nancy Dow, a former model who was critical of her daughter's appearance as she was growing up.
In a heartbreaking interview, Jen explained: "I did not come out the model child she’s hoped for and it was something that really resonated with me.
"This little girl just wanting to be loved by a mum that was too occupied with things that didn’t quite matter.
"She was critical. She was very critical of me. Because she was a model, she was gorgeous, stunning. I wasn’t. I never was.
"I honestly still don’t think of myself in that sort of light, which is fine. She was also very unforgiving. She would hold grudges that I just found so petty."
The Marley and Me star has even revealed her mother encouraged her not to leave the house without make-up on when she was just 13.
Jen said: "She was always there telling me what to do and how to do it.
"Y'know: 'Put your eyes on, don't go to the market without'. I was like: 'I'm 13, do I have to put my eyes on? Aren't they there?'"
But it was in 1999, not long before Jen's marriage to Brad Pitt that her mother drove a wedge between her and her daughter that would take years to heal.
Nancy wrote From Mother and Daughter to Friends: A Memoir about her relationship with her famous daughter.
Jen was so distraught she didn't invite her mother wedding with Brad and the pair didn't speak for several years.
When Jennifer's mother passes away in May, 2018, her daughter had visited her weeks earlier - the first time in almost five years.
However, the actress has said she doesn't blame her mother for her behaviour.
In an interview earlier this year, Jen explained: "My mum was consumed and concerned with her physical appearance.
"Her parents were basically non-existent and she was one of five sisters - she had this beauty so that's how she was able to go out and make a living, with modelling.
