Jennifer Aniston's secret baby plan weeks before Brad Pitt met Angelina Jolie

Jennifer Aniston expressed her desire to have a baby with her then-hubby Brad Pitt just weeks before he went on to meet Angelina Jolie on a movie set

Jennifer Aniston spoke about her baby plans just weeks before Brad Pitt met Angelina Jolie on set.

This July has marked 20 years since Jen and Brad tied the knot in a lavish ceremony but the former showbiz power couple's marriage didn't stand the test of time.

Hopes of a reunion surfaced again this year when they looked like the friendliest exes in the world on the SAG Award red carpet, but they have just stayed friends.

Just weeks before Brad met Angelina on Mr & Mrs Smith, Jen talked about the possibility of working as an actress while having a baby.

The Friends star's marriage to the Fight Club hunk in 2005, heartbreakingly just months after Jen imagined their future with children.

In 2004, she told The Guardian at the time: "It's time. It's time. You know, I think you can work with a baby, I think you can work pregnant, I think you can do all of it. So I'm just truly looking forward to slowing down."

Jen refused to pen down a date for having a child.

But she did give a timeline of their opposing filming schedules while she wrapped up Friends and he finished Mr & Mrs Smith with Angelina.

The bombshell remarked the couple would have time together when Brad begun filming on Ocean's Twelve.

She added at the time: "I'll have finished Friends by end of January, he'll be finishing [Mr and Mrs Smith, opposite Angelina Jolie] at the end of February.

"Then he starts Ocean's Twelve. So I, thankfully, will be able to go and travel with him while he's doing that."

No one could have foreseen Jen and Brad's marriage would end the following year.

Later, Brad would sweep Angelina off her feet and they were together for 12 years before their split in 2016.

In 2018, Jen gave a candid interview where she hinted at fertility struggles "behind closed doors" after constant speculation about whether she would have a baby.

The actress hit out at the pressure on women to become mothers as she speculated whether her purpose on the planet was something else.

In the same interview, the Hollywood beauty pointed out she wasn't heartbroken after her marriage to Justin Theroux broke down.

She told InStyle magazine : "It's pretty crazy. The misconceptions are 'Jen can't keep a man,' and 'Jen refuses to have a baby because she's selfish and committed to her career.' Or that I'm sad and heartbroken. First, with all due respect, I'm not heartbroken...

"Those are reckless assumptions. No one knows what's going on behind closed doors. No one considers how sensitive that might be for my partner and me. They don't know what I've been through medically or emotionally."
