Jedward have launched a scathing Twitter attack on The Corrs star Jim Corr after he backed anti-mask protesters in Ireland.

The pop duo – aka 28-year-old twins John and Edward Grimes – blasted 56-year-old Jim after an alleged crowd of 6,000 marched through Dublin to oppose orders for the public to wear face coverings amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The protest, held on Saturday, was organised by Health Freedom Ireland sparked fury from the Jedward twins who lashed out on Twitter.

They raged: “Dear Dublin Anti Mask Protest! Get the f*** inside you selfish low lives sincerely the rest of the country."

“When your core message is wrong you have no legs to stand on! There’s only one Right in this fight against Covid so don’t even try to question it! Change your attitude and get with the times.”

Jim found himself targeted by the lads after he shard footage from the protest – sparking an amusing exchange of clashing opinions, peppered with references to The Corrs’ back catalogue of songs.

Jedward fired the first shot, tweeting: “G’wan leave the whole country ‘breathless’ from Covid because of your idiotic behaviour @Jimcorrsays.”

Jim hit back, tweeting: “Shut up you fools and grow a brain between you.”

The twins savagely fired in return: “Why don’t you just go and ‘Runaway’ and FYI your sisters never needed you please leave the band.”

Not letting up, Jim replied: “Ireland’s Millie Vanillie have spoken and I shall hand in my notice forthwith. But lads, I just want to say…” – finishing the tweet with a link to the music video of The Corrs’ hit, I Never Loved You Anyway.

The argument heated up with an enraged Jedward then blasting: “You’re the best background band member In the history of Irish music. Jim ‘it really doesn’t matter at all, cause we are so young now’ and ‘irresistible’ you’re just another #COVIDIOT good luck with your air guitar skills.”

Jim then shred a link to a controversial pandemic denying documentary, writing: “Here lads, while I go practise my air guitar watch this, it involves interviews with some important people but don’t get overwhelmed as they use some big words on occasions, just take your time and if you need help understanding, I’m here.”

But Jedward attempted to shut the conversation down with a final word, tweeting: “You’re a waste of our time, We’re getting bored. May as well be talking to a brick wall. Go to bed Jim.”

The astonishing exchange left fans and followers bewildered – with many siding with the Jedward twins.

One fan gushed to the twins: “thanks for always being you & standing up for what’s right in this world.”
