James Jordan forced fans to double take as his completely unrecognisable appearance left them confused.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star, 42, welcomed his first child - a daughter named Ella - with wife Ola earlier this year.

But it seems as though dad life seems to have taken a toll on James, as he appeared to look completely different from his usual groomed self.

James shared a heartwarming snap of him holding baby Ella on his chest, but it fans seemed to be distracted by James' wild hair.

Sharing the adorable snap on Instagram, he jokingly penned: "Anyone that says 'Having a baby doesn't age you' is lying. #Fatherhood#wouldntchangeitfortheworld."

James looked worlds away from his appearance before welcoming baby Ella in February, as fans rushed to Twitter to comment on the new look.

One fan penned: "I think it’s the hair not the baby lol."

A second agreed, writing: "James you need to get a hair cut and go back to that smart man we loved on dancing on ice , but still love the photo of you both !!!"

Another wrote: "Good lord man, cut your hair."

While a fourth added: "That hair is ageing you lol don’t blame Ella!"

James and Ola became parents in February after a heartbreaking fertility battle.

Doctors warned Ola she only had a 50/50 chance she would get pregnant, but Ola conceived after her first round of IVF treatment in June 2019.

She previously told Hello! magazine: "I would love to be a mum with all my heart and I just thought it would happen naturally.

"James is also desperate to have babies and I just wish it could have happened by now. That's the one gift I would love to give him.

"I guess I just thought, like most women, that I could choose when the time was right for me; that I could have my career and then have a baby when it felt right. But for us it just hasn’t happened like that."
