James Corden has torn into President Donald Trump over his shocking “immunity” comments after he contracted coronavirus.
Following his astonishing statements, James Corden slammed Trump with a musical parody cover of Paul McCartney’s Maybe I’m Amazed, rebranding the song as “Maybe I’m Immune”.
The US President faced international refute when he returned to the White House days after testing positive for the deadly virus.
He was filmed removing his mask to address American citizens and urged people not to fear the disease - that has killed more than 209,000 people in the country so far.
"Don't let it dominate you. Don't be afraid of it," Trump said after his return from the Walter Reed Medical Center military hospital outside Washington where he was treated.
"I'm better, and maybe I'm immune - I don't know," he added, flanked by American flags and with the Washington Monument in the background. "Get out there. Be careful."
Trump, who was treated by an army of doctors and received experimental treatment, has repeatedly played down a disease that has killed more than 1 million people worldwide and left his own country with the highest death toll in the world.
The Gavin and Stacey star took the opportunity to roast the President on his hit US show, The Late Late Show.
Comedic actor and host gave an overview of the week’s events in the song, laying into Trump for his drive-by visit to fans and for removing his mask.
“Maybe I’m a man and maybe I don’t wear a mask because I don’t care about others, science I don’t really understand,” Corden sang.
He continued while clips of Trump’s antics played behind him: “Maybe I just need some oxygen.
“Maybe I’m immune to the way the polls are looking now, maybe I’m afraid it’s not Fake News.
“Maybe I’m immune to all the lies that I have made, I shouldn’t have downplayed. Maybe I’m afraid that I might lose this.”
Cordon’s scathing attack on Trump comes after Facebook and Twitter cracked down on his accounts, accusing him of spreading fake news.
The social networks have cracked down on misinformation about coronavirus, targeting Trump’s post claiming Covid-19 is less deadly than flu.
A Facebook post, which was removed under the social network's anti-misinformation rules, claimed: "Flu season is coming up! Many people every year, sometimes over 100,000, and despite the Vaccine, die from Flu.
"Are we going to close down our country? No, we have learned to live with it, just like we are learning to live with Covid, in most populations far less lethal!!!"
