Emmys 2020: Jameela Jamil ditches red carpet look to wear PJs to virtual ceremony

Actress/model Jameela Jamil opted for a comfy look as she attended the virtual ceremony from home - wearing white PJs and a glitzy dressing down

Jameela Jamil ditched her usual red carpet look to wear her pyjamas to the virtual Emmy Awards.

The virtual ceremony took place in Los Angeles and the model/actress' show The Good Place was nominated for seven awards.

She decided against dressing up for the big night, and instead opted for a comfy look as she attended from home.

Jameela, 34, wore white PJs and added some glitz by wearing a sequin dressing gown over the top.

She shared a picture of herself lounging on her sofa on Instagram and wrote: "Wearing PJ's to the 72nd Emmy awards (from my house) is my kind of vibes.

"Excited to see if we win any of the 7 awards we have been nominated for!!!!

"I still did my make-up and wore a sequin dressing gown, because... It's what [her The Good Place charachter] Tahani would have wanted. And this is her day, not mine."

However, it wasn't a good night for the cast as The Good Place failed to win any of the awards it was nominated for.

The comedy categories were dominated by Schitt's Creek, which won seven gongs - leaving The Good Place stars empty handed.

Fans of the comedy were disappointed by the snub and took to Twitter to call out Emmy bosses for failing to recognise the show with a single win.

One wrote: "Still happy for Schitt’s Creek but also bummed to hear that The Good Place has never won an Emmy, why did the Emmy’s snub these masterpieces of television for so long????"

Another added: "The good place deserved better ESPECIALLY for that wholesome finale."
