Dominic West and Catherine FitzGerald's marriage has been rocked this week after snaps emerged of the actor kissing screen siren Lily James.

After the snaps came to light on Monday, Dominic flew home to the Wiltshire cottage he lives in with his aristocratic and wife their children.

The couple recently put on a defiant display declaring their marriage is still "strong" and they are "very much" still together.

But in a bid for some privacy, it is reported by Mail Online that the couple have headed to Ireland to stay in Glin Castle as they try to move on from Dominic's extra-marital shenanigans.

The historic property in Limerick is where the couple tied the knot in 2010.

The epic country house has been in Catherine's family for generations and the place holds many memories for Catherine as she grew up on the property as her father was the 29th and final Knight of Glin.

As the couple hole up in the stunning abode here is a look inside the sprawling 18th century venue.

Stepping into the property is like stepping back in time due to it being filled with antique furniture, mis-matched colour palettes and vintage knick-knacks - including taxidermy mounted animals.

The dining room is flooded with natural light thanks to the huge windows.

Long dining tables take centre stage in the room - that can house a large number of guests - and are covered in white linen and decked out with impressive silverware.

There is also a drawing room that has a marble chimney piece and a gorgeous open fire.

Upstairs there are 15 bedrooms. - many with four poster beds and all decorated with artwork and the property boats two kitchens - a commercial kitchen which can cater for up to eighty people and a family kitchen with Aga.

Throughout the home oil paintings cover the walls as well as stuffed animals on plaques, a number of books and sculptures are also littered about.

The outside space is impressive and features breathtakingly beautiful gardens spanning over 15 acres.

There is a number of manicured lawns as well as secret nooks and walkways.

Catherine and Dominic now own the plush pad after Catherine's mother Olda decided to sell the castle so her daughter and her actor husband.
