I'm A Celebrity star James Haskell has given his no-holds-barred opinion on the easily offended.

The former England rugby ace, who became a leader-figure in last year's camp, vowed to keep speaking his mind no matter the criticism and said he doesn't care if people think he's a "d**k."

James reckoned that social media has a role to play in the "pickle" we're in, and that "we have to remember that you can't please everyone."

"Because of social media there is no open dialogue any more," he remarked to The Daily Star.

"There aren't any differences of opinion. There is no context to anything. It's people fighting fire with fire. And everybody is offended by everything now. It has got us into a bad situation."

Citing a specific example, he recalled a tweet in which he'd mentioned beef.

One commenter, James told, compared eating meat to "animals being raped."

Admitting that some people take issue with his no-filters attitude, he added: "Plenty of people hate me. I'm the antithesis of what most people like.

"And I don't care."

The star went on to say that he would never go out of his way to intentionally cause offence.

His new book, What A Flanker, recently hit shelves, and contains a healthy dose of his humour - which I'm A Celeb fans got to see around the campfire last year.

"In the book I just wanted to tell the truth," James said of the autobiography, "I wanted to tell it exactly how it is."

James recently paid a sweet tribute to wife Chloe Madeley, branding her "the glue that holds him together."

The pair tied the knot in December 2018, and Chloe - who's the daughter of daytime telly legends Richard and Judy - was there to meet him on the bridge after his jungle stint last year.

He'd hung up his scrum cap in May 2019, bidding a farewell to his beloved England team after a stellar career in the game.

Racking up an incredible 77 caps for England, he told after his retirement that he wanted to explore different avenues for his new life.

But he didn't take long to take up a whole new sport, this time in the shape of MMA.

"There's no 'oh let's make it some showbiz thing,'" he enthused to The Guardian of his new sport.
