Giovanna Fletcher has opened up about suffering a miscarriage.

The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here winner, 35, tragically lost her baby when she was six weeks pregnant in 2012.

She is mum to Buzz, six, Buddy, four, and Max, two, with her husband, McFly singer Tom Fletcher, and miscarried before Buzz was born.

She called the tragedy "really raw and upsetting" and was motivated to talk about her loss after Meghan Markle revealed she had a miscarriage earlier this year.

Giovanna told The Sun : "I think it's so important that people are open about miscarriages, every time someone brings this topic of conversation up it helps so many people, because it's such a lonely thing to go through and hearing other people express themselves when you can't find the words to help people understand what you're going through is so important.

"I think it's so admirable and amazing for her to share what is a really raw and upsetting thing to go through."

Giovanna called for people to discuss miscarriages more openly as it can help those going through it.

She added: "When a miscarriage happens you need the people in your life to be there for you and you don't need to feel ashamed or like you've done anything wrong, you need the people in your life to be able to give you the support."

On Friday Giovanna beat runner-up Jordan North and third place finalist Vernon Kay to be crowned the first queen of the castle on I'm A Celebrity.

During her time on the ITV show she struggled to be away from her three sons and her husband.

She couldn't speak to them when the show aired and she also had to self-isolate for weeks before heading into the castle.

They were finally reunited on Saturday, with Giovanna sharing adorable pictures of their cuddles when they were back together.

She said: "Mumma Gi here and I'm thrilled to say I'm home with my boys and Tom and soaking up all the kisses and cuddles I've missed.

"They've been extremely excited to talk to me about all the trials, wear my crown (they think they're now Princes and that we're moving into the castle), and then make me watch their new favourite show... @imacelebrity."
