The cast and crew of I'm A Celebrity have reportedly been terrorised by a murder of crows "dive-bombing" around Gwyrch Castle.

The celebrities have got off to a great start at their new location in North Wales so far, but it seems they have attracted some intruders.

It's thought the campmates and show bosses are living in fear of the huge birds which have been swooping around the courtyard.

Thankfully, the crows - described as "something out of a horror film" - have narrowly missed out on hitting anyone.

A source has revealed the crows are "making life difficult" for the campmates and the stars just want to "claim their castle back" after suffering from sleepless nights.

They told The Sun: "The birds are like something out of a horror film.

"It's like they're watching the celebs and crew, then when they're in sight they swoop on them."

According to the source, crows and seagulls have been crowing at dawn and ruining the stars' sleeping patterns.

"Because of the filming times this year, with the trial and dinner happening in the middle of the night, the celebs are often not going to bed until 3am," they added.

It means the "bleary-eyed celebrities" are only having a few hours of sleep before they wake up for another day on the show.

Insiders believe the crows are not used to anyone living at the derelict castle ruins as it has been empty for around 40 years.

It's claimed there have been some "near misses" as the crows have "dive-bombed on the castle" while celebrities have been out in the courtyard.

It comes after ITV bosses saw audience viewing figures nosedive since the series launched two weeks ago – with over six million tuning off by the time of the first eviction.

The show launched with a record breaking 14.3 million viewers who were eager to watch stars including Vernon Kay, Sir Mo Farah and Victoria Derbyshire enter the castle – the highest viewing figures for a launch show in I'm A Celeb history.

But the Mail on Sunday claimed ratings dropped by 6.2 million to 8.1 million viewers less than two weeks later when Paralympian Hollie Arnold became the first to be eliminated from the 2020 series on Friday night.

The Mirror has contacted ITV for comment.
