I'm A Celeb castle boss describes eerie hauntings that have plagued the site for years

Celebrities appearing on the 2020 series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! are more likely to encounter ghosts and ghouls than creepy crawlies this year.
Mark Baker, boss of the trust which owns the site of Gwrych Castle in Abergele - where the upcoming series is taking place - has shared on some of the spooky goings on that he has witnessed at the location.
Speaking to Life in North Wales magazine, Mark recalled an unusual occurrence at the haunted castle and added that the most common ghost to be seen is 'The Countess.'
He shared: "I saw a ball of light on the marble staircase, and a couple of others did too, it was hovering for about ten seconds then it just disappeared. There is no electric in this area so that was quite weird."
Describing other supernatural things, he continued: "Some people have heard horses going up the trackway."
And it is not just in recent times that the venue has been thought to have an other-worldly connection.
Mark told that the castle is “very embedded in Welsh mythology" and that the caves on-site "are where the fairy folk are believed to have lived in The Mabinogion, and it’s been seen as a gateway into the Welsh other world.”
ITV bosses are splurging millions to renovate the derelict Welsh castle into an I'm A Celebrity TV set, it has been reported.
To make 19th-century Gwrych Castle safe, producers have had to install pipes of running water and electrics.
The renovated castle, which has been hired for over £1million for six weeks as an alternative to the Australian jungle, will also have a roof which the celebs will sleep under for the first time.
A campfire that the stars can sit around will be in the unsheltered part of the castle.
A source told The Sun : "This isn’t a holiday camp for the stars, but without a roof, everyone would have been utterly miserable for three weeks, which would not make great telly."
They added that it would be hard work but will make it bearable for the celebs if it snows.
So far, the celebrities rumoured to be taking part are Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard, EastEnders' Jake Wood, Eamonn Holmes and Keith Duffy.
