Sparks flew when Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie co-starred as assassins-slash-lovers in 2005 film, Mr and Mrs Smith.
But with Brad married to Jennifer Aniston, both he and Angelina were quick to pour cold water over rumours of a 'dastardly affair'.
Instead, they insisted things only got physical after Brad left Jen in January 2005.
“It took until, really, the end of the shoot for us, I think, to realise that it might mean something more than we’d earlier allowed ourselves to believe," Angelina told Vogue in a 2006 interview that Jen branded 'uncool'.
She continued: "And both knowing that the reality of that was a big thing, something that was going to take a lot of serious consideration.”
"We spent a lot of time contemplating and thinking and talking about what we both wanted in life and realized that we wanted very, very similar things.
“And then we just continued to take time. We remained very, very good friends – with this realisation – for a long time. And then life developed in a way where we could be together, where it felt like something we would do, we should do.”
However, Angelina's former bodyguard, Mark Behar, has a different tale and claimed he regularly caught the pair 'making out' in their trailers.
What's more, he alleged there was an underground network of aides on set who helped pass notes that were 'sexual in content' between the two stars.
"[Angelina] and Brad were constantly laughing and flirting with each other and acting like two school kids who had the hots for each other, and it was so cute," he told Us Weekly.
"I caught them several times in each other’s trailers making out. I wasn't shocked at all when they got married years later."
And other on-set sources claimed Angelina was the temptress, alleging she secretly removed her flesh-coloured underwear during one love scene.
"In the end, she shunned the suit and climbed in bed with him naked! It’s the biggest thing we all remember from that film," the source told Us Weekly.
Mr Behar isn't the first of the hired help to lift the lid on Brangelina.
Brad Pitt's ex-bodyguard Kris Herzog previously dished on the different dynamic between Brad and Jen, who would have been married for 20 years today.
Mr Herzog, who joined Brad's team following his divorce, reckons Brad and Jen were '100 percent happy' and living a life of happily wedded bliss before he signed up for Mr and Mrs Smith.
“I never heard of them fighting. I never heard rumours of cheating. I never heard anything bad between Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt before he met Angelina Jolie," he told Australia's Yahoo! Lifestyle in 2016.
“She really loved him with all her heart. I don’t believe Jennifer even looked at other guys when she was with Brad. She would have dedicated her life to him."
However, he claims the dynamic between Brad and Angelina was at the other end of the spectrum.
“With Angelina it was a different type of relationship. It was ‘we are the most powerful celebrity couple in the world’ and that was primarily Angelina pushing the public image," he said.
Brad and Angelina went on to have six children together before splitting in 2016 amid reports of an explosive mid-flight row between Brad and their eldest son Maddox.
