Holly Willoughby shares congratulatory video to Allison Hammond

Holly Willoughby has finally reacted to Alison Hammond’s National Television Award nomination – after she was snubbed this year.

The This Morning star took to Instagram to give her verdict on Alison being up for best TV presenter award, alongside Ant and Dec, Graham Norton and Bradley Walsh.

Posting in her stories, the 41-year-old shared a video of Alison working out with the caption: “There is only one @alisonhammond55."

Showing support for her morning TV colleague she added: “Come on babe!!! This year is our year... Congratulations... love you!!! #NTA.”

The post was set to the trending Instagram soundbite: “She’s an icon, she’s a legend and she IS the moment.”

It put to bed Alison’s alleged fears that her recent success at ITV was “stepping on Holly’s toes”.

As the only woman in the best TV presenter category this year, the 47-year-old will be hoping to end Ant and Dec’s 20-year winning streak if she takes home this year’s award.

The Geordie double act have won the best presenter gong at the NTAs every year since 2001.

Although Holly and co-host Phillip Schofield missed out on individual nods, This Morning is up for best Daytime show alongside Loose Women, The Chase and The Repair Shop.

As well as her success on This Morning, it is rumoured that Alison is favourite to host the highly anticipated Big Brother reboot , which is expected to air on ITV2 next year.

If she has got the gig, she would be the perfect person to present it – as it’s the very show she found fame on back in 2002.

Since then Alison has gone on to become one of the most successful Big Brother housemates ever and is now a TV star in her own right.

This was despite being in the house for just 15 days before she was voted out in season three, which also featured Kate Lawler and Jade Goody , who died of cancer aged just 27 in 2009.

Alison is now a regular face on This Morning alongside Dermot O’Leary and often fills in for Holly and Phil.

And the loveable Brummie was the UK showbiz reporter on the programme for over a decade before taking on presenting duties.

She has also appeared on Loose Women, I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, Celebrity Masterchef, Celebs Go Dating and Strictly Come Dancing.

But despite reportedly being “inundated” with new job offers, insiders have claimed Alison is “freaking out behind the scenes”.

A source told Closer magazine: “Alison is definitely ITV ’s new queen of TV and while many are surprised Holly isn’t being lined up for the Big Brother job, it’s a no brainer to give it to Alison.

“She’s been really shocked to be this in demand at this point in her career and ITV are determined for her to become their next big star, and they want to strike while the iron is hot.”

“But Alison is freaking out behind the scenes,” the source revealed. “She doesn’t want to be accused of stepping on Holly’s toes. She’s afraid to bring anything up with her, even though she thinks Holly will be supportive – she’s embarrassed.”

The insider claims ITV bigwigs are now scrambling to secure a “golden handcuffs” deal with Alison – something they have previously failed to get Holly to do.

If she were to sign such a contract it would mean she could only work for ITV, unless she has special permission from bosses to do a show on another channel.
