Holly Hagan has detailed the horrific trolling she has experienced for over a decade in a poignant social media update.

The Geordie Shore star, who rose to fame on the wild MTV reality show back in 2010, revealed that she contemplated taking her own life after her so-called friends turned on her.

The 28-year-old reality star took to Instagram on Tuesday night to recount the moment she discovered a ‘disgusting’ Facebook page that was created when she shot to fame at the tender age of 18, where people from her hometown would spread hate and horrific rumours about Holly.

The page was created in order for users to comment on Holly’s past and her appearance, and over 4,000 people joined in and contributed to making her life a living hell.

In a bid to finally expose the people who caused her so much sadness and anxiety over the years, Holly took to her Instagram to call out the hideous behaviour that almost drove her to taking her own life.

The brave reality star decided to screenshot a number of vile comments made about her back in 2011 in a bid to shine light on the effect that social media bullying can have in the long run.

Alongside the video where she named and shamed her abusers, the blonde beauty insisted that she had to move from her hometown because she feared for her life after being bombarded with death threats following her first appearance on Geordie Shore.

Some of the most violent comments read: “Someone give me a shovel so I can smash her in the face to make her look a bit better” and “I wish this girl would just end it once and for all”.

Calling out the vile behaviour, Holly told her followers: “This was just a couple of the comments left about me back in 2011. When I was 18 years old. From people I knew or knew of. Having stumbled across the only active Facebook page that was made about me back in 2011 (many others have been deleted) I discovered an entire world which I’d tried to forget about for the past 10 years. The end of this video contains every message left on that group.

“I’d be lying if I said opening up this wound again didn’t affect me. I’ve felt sick. This video has had no prep and is a little all over the place but it’s real.”

Holly went on to emphasise her reasoning for sharing the informative video when she urged people to stop and think before they share a nasty comment online because the lasting effects may be detrimental to a vulnerable person.

The bubbly reality star also insisted that she ‘wouldn’t be here’ if it wasn’t for the loyalty of her close friends who defended her continuously after she shot to fame on the MTV show.

Holly continued: “The point of this is so important. If people can just see the damage it can do then maybe they’ll think twice. If people who are going through the same thing can see I’ve made it to this point in my life that is so happy and amazing then maybe they’ll hold on through it knowing that it DOES GET BETTER!

“That 18-year-old girl didn’t have a voice. But I do. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.”

After sharing the brave video, Holly was showered with love and support from her fans and friends including her Geordie Shore family.

Charlotte Crosby penned: “So proud of you. Sadly, this is not going to ever stop.”

“You are such a beautiful person inside and out. Keep doing what you're doing - lots of love” another follower echoed .

And a third shared: “Your crusade to stop trolling is AMAZING Holly. We are all behind you.”
