Harry Styles' mum has jumped to her son's defence for wearing a dress as cover star of Vogue US.
The former One Direction singer has made history as the first solo male to pose for the front cover of the magazine in 127 years.
The iconic shoot sees Harry wear a feminine grey dress with a tailored blazer, which he received criticism for - including from the likes of conservative commentator Candace Owens.
But justifying his decision to pose in a dress, his mum Anne Twist, 51, has revealed she might have inspired his love of androgyny from his younger days.
Making an appearance on ITV's Lorraine via video call, Anne said: "I think maybe I had something to do with it because I was always a big fan of doing fancy dress with the kids when they were smaller, which his sister hated but Harry always embraced. But who doesn't love doing a bit of dress up?"
Harry's mum spoke to Lorraine after her son's cover shoot came out over the weekend, which sparked a mixed reaction.
Candace made headlines when she took to Twitter to share her opinion on the shoot.
She wrote: "There is no society that can survive without strong men.
"The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminization of our men at the same time that Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence."
She added to her scathing tweet: "It is an outright attack. Bring back manly men."
Actress Olivia Wilde responded to Candace's tweet, writing: "You're pathetic."
The Cowboys & Aliens star announced over the weekend that her engagement to Jason Sudeikis has ended.
In response, Candace fired back: "You're single for a reason," before deleting her tweet.
Harry received over six million likes on the cover photo which featured on Vogue.
