Gorka Marquez celebrated as he and celebrity dance partner Maisie Smith landed a spot in the Strictly Come Dancing final last night.

But despite their joy, Gorka's success means he must wait one more week before he can reunite with toddler daughter Mia and actress partner Gemma Atkinson.

Like all the cast and crew, Gorka has been isolating inside the Strictly bubble, unable to return home as long as he continues on the show.

On Monday he shared an adorable video showing little Mia watching her daddy on television.

He wrote on Instagram : "And my Heart just melts....

"I Remember Gem and me used to speak about the day when Mia will be watching the Show and see papa on it and Look at her.

"One more week to make my little girl and her mummy proud. "Can’t wait to be home to do our own dances."

The video showed Mia standing a few feet back from the television set, dressed in her pink pyjama and matching bib.

Gemma, who met Gorka on Strictly in 2017, sings along to the theme while Mia watches intently, before asking the tot: "where's Papa?"

A look of delight crosses Mia's face and she shouts "there", while smiling and pointing to the screen.

Gorka, 30, has been open about the hardship of being separated from his family in a bid to keep the Strictly set coronavirus-free.

Speaking to host Claudia Winkleman on Saturday, he detailed why his dance partner deserved to be in the final.

"So many reasons, you know," he began. "I think she’s just an incredible 19-year-old girl.

"Everyone thinks she’s confident, very strong but behind that mask is a soft heart that wants to impress everyone and do me proud, and her family.

"You know it has been a difficult series for everyone especially for me being away from Gemma and Mia.

"But she has always got a smile pushing me, even when it was hard for her, being in the bottom two and everything."
