GMB dr Sarah Jarvis looks dramatically different in stunning throwback from uni

Television doctor Sarah Jarvis has become a regular face on our screens since the start of the coronavirus pandemic - but have you ever seen her like this?

Having already appeared on the likes of Good Morning Britain and The One Show, Sarah has become a much-respected authority on Covid-19 and other medical issues, including how to cope in a heatwave.

Her down-to-earth but authoritative tone has already won the flame-haired doctor a legion of fans and listeners, but fans were recently treated to a look at Sarah from her beautiful youth.

The doctor posted her graduation portrait in May on Twitter and looks like a baby!

Dr. Jarvis wrote: "Just up visiting my father and found my old graduation photo. I think I was trying to emulate Simon LeBon’s hairstyle but look grown up at the same time."

She looks positively stunning!

So, just why and how did Sarah become the doctor we know and love today and what does she do outside of work hours?

According to Patient.info, Sarah wanted to be a doctor ever since the age of 8!

A doctor had paid a house call to Sarah's home and left her a needle and syringe for her to use after he was done (which would never happen now), enabling her to practice on her toys and inspiring her to take up being a doctor professionally.

Rather than just trying to cure issues herself, Sarah believes in a focus on the "partnership between patient and doctor".

Sarah trained in medicine at both Cambridge and Oxford and after this went to work as a GP in a partnership at the busy Richford Gate Medical Practice in 1990, going on to train 27 GPs from 1994.

She went on to have a career as a medical advisor and doctor on a number of television shows, including on the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio 2, along with appearances on various news channels, The One Show, and Good Morning Britain.

Sarah has also written a number of books, including three in the "For Dummies" series on specific health issues such as Diabetes, whilst also writing columns for the likes of My Weekly and Good Housekeeping.

In 2018, Sarah was included in the New Year's Honours list, being awarded an MBE for her services to Health.

Wearing a blue lace dress, Sarah looked a million dollars as she met up with friends Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford as Eamonn picked up his own OBE at the same ceremony.

She has also posted photos having a laugh with other celebrities on her Twitter page, including backstage laughs with comedians Mel Giedroyc and Ricky Gervais.

Sarah is also keen on doing a lot of travel, but the born-and-bred Londoner has a favourite spot: Cornwall.

She wrote on Twitter in 2018: "I've been lucky enough to travel all over the world but I'm not sure there's anywhere more beautiful than #Cornwall at its best. #walking#soutwestcoastalpath ".

In addition to travel, Sarah has shown sneak peaks of spa weekends away with friends - saving lives does require a pamper session in our books!

Despite often avoiding controversial points, Sarah does not mince her words - on and off air - when it comes to anti-vaccine groups.

She in tweeted March this year: "Normally I try my very best to avoid making people feel uncomfortable. But for anti-vaxxers I'll make an exception #VaccinesWork ".

Dr. Jarvis later added: "One day we will have a vaccine and the entire world will no longer shut down.

"When that day comes, anti-vaxxers, please think back to this before you terrify parents out of protecting their children #VaccinesSaveLives ".

Based in London, Sarah has also been enjoying the summer's good weather as well as advising us on how to stay safe during the UK heatwave.

Along with a video of her playing with her beloved dog onesie, Sarah tweeted: "The weather is glorious & I'm acutely aware that not everyone is lucky enough to have a garden. But take it from Lexi - you don't have to break the #SocialDistancing rules to have fun and keep safe at the same time!"

Sarah has also been growing her own vegetables in her small garden throughout lockdown and last month showed off the fruits of her labour on Instagram.

Yet, despite her posts showing her having fun, Sarah's mission to help public health never ends.

She recently tweeted: "Most people have been amazing in lockdown but it really, really isn't over yet. Let's not throw everything we've worked so hard for away."

Hear, hear!
