Geri Horner and Amanda Holden gush over kids’ GCSE results as they join proud parents

It's a big day for teenagers across the country as GCSE results are out. Excited celebrities have taken to social media to share their kids' exciting news with fans and loved ones

Social media has become awash with proud parents sharing their children's GCSE joys, and celebrity families are no different.

Amanda Holden and Geri Horner have both gushed over their kids after the exam results were revealed today.

The Spice Girls star shared a sweet snap of the nerve-wracking moment her daughter Bluebell discovered that she had achieved A* in all of her GCSES.

She captioned the post: "SO Proud of you Blue! All A [star emojis]!! 9 GCSES! You worked so hard! You inspire me! Girl power!!!!! [star emojis]."

Geri's husband and Bluebell's step dad commented: "Wow Bluebell 9 straight A's in your GCSE’s is an incredible achievement! You worked incredibly hard and we are all very proud X."

Amanda Holden also shared her proud mum moment from a stunning holiday destination.

She sat with her back to the camera looking out across the sea with one arm raised in the air, the other holding her phone.

"Me when we got Lexi's results this morning she smashed it sooooo proud of our girl," she wrote.

She had also wished all the other 16 and 17 year olds in the country luck before the results were released.

"Good luck to ALL GCSE'rs," she wrote.

Married at First Sight star Marilyse Elena Corrigan also shared her pride over her son's results.

The pair were sat in the car, with Callum holding his results paper.

"With permission to post!! Super super proud of my boy @callumsjart I would have been proud whatever you achieved! But you have smashed it! Love youuuuuu #gcse2022"

As well as celebrating their children's results, plenty of well-known figures have spoken about their own results from back in the day.

Harry Potter star Emma Watson isn't just a smarty pants in the Wizarding world, but also landed a staggering eight A* grades and two As in 2006.

Simon Cowell left school early with just three O-levels - the exams taken before GCSEs came along.

Richard Branson also dropped out of school aged 16 and "flunked" his exams.

He is keen to let students know that "the alphabet runs from A to Z, not A to C".

Cheryl left school without any qualifications.

In a Huffington Post blog in 2012, Cheryl said: "For those who did well with their GCSEs, or even managed to just scrape by, their world is about to change.

"Maybe they're about to take up a place at college to study their chosen subjects, or maybe they have their dream job lined up. Either way it's a time for celebration."
