GC, 39, insisted she was mesmerised by a recording she had seen proving mermaids exisited.
After seeing film Aquaman, the blonde bombshell said there was a definite possibility mermen were also keeping the mermaids company in the water.
The former TOWIE personality shared her beliefs in her latest edition of The Gemma Collins podcast.
She said: "To back up my mermaid claim, I was watching something on the internet about mermaids.
"This mermaid come up on a submarine and the mermaids put their hands on the window."
GC was grilled over her beliefs by photographer Doug Allen who had worked with Sir David Attenborough.
The cameraman demanded to know her opinion on mermen given her opinion on mermaids.
Gemma based her judgement on fictional narrative Aquaman starring Hollywood stars Jason Momoa and Amber Heard.
She responded: "On this recording that I saw, you can't tell if it's a merman or a mermaid.
"But if you watch the film Aquaman he is a real-life merman so I believe there could be both."
She's returned to her podcast following her sun-soaked break in Mykonos, Greece with her friend.
Gemma has no qualms causing a stir with her controversial beliefs.
Previously, the Instagram star admitted she has faith lizard people live among us using a secret network of underground tunnels claimed to be owned by the Queen.
She previously said: "My theory is - and this is a little bit weird - I believe there are lizards living amongst us.
