Gemma Collins has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts to bring about "world peace".

The 39-year-old TOWIE star was put up for the prestigious award by two YouTube pranksters and the nomination has actually been accepted.

YouTubers Josh Pieters and Archie Manners were able to officially put Gemma forward after they created The Romford Research Institute for Peace.

In their nomination, they argued that Gemma could solve the North Korean crisis.

The comedy duo also put forward Kanye West and Mickey Mouse for the coveted award - which has previously been received by Dalai Lama, Barack Obama and Nelson Mandela.

Speaking to The Sun about their nomination, the Institute's directors said: "The GC has spent 39 years promoting peace and harmony across Essex – and beyond.

"If you look at what peace really means, take for example her on-off relationship with James Argent – no one died.

"It was a conflict that did appear to be resolved peacefully and we at the Romford Research Institute think this is a great demonstration of world peace."

Joshua added: "We believe in the GC effect, which is a peer reviewed hypothesis that if Gemma spent a long weekend in North Korea she could use the skills as seen in Towie to attempt to bring peace to the region."

A representative for Gemma has declined to comment.

Archie also explained that Gemma Collins is 'arguably more peaceful' than Donald Trump, who has also been nominated for the award.

He added: "Not only are we saying GC is an incredibly peaceful person but at the Romford Research Institute we are saying, if Donald Trump is going to be nominated and publicly celebrate this nomination at his election rallies – then why not Gemma Collins?

"She is arguably more peaceful than Donald Trump. And it's the same with Kanye West. His nomination has been successful and he will also be considered."

Aside from her Nobel Peace Prize nomination, the reality star is shortly set to appear on Piers Morgan's Life Stories.

The upcoming episode, that has already been filmed, is believed to reveal some explosive details about Gemma's former relationship to James Argent.
