Gary Barlow and Olly Murs announce respective 2021 tours in bid to lift nation's spirits

The pair have announced their respective tours are set to take place next summer as they look forward to getting back on the road and perform

Gary Barlow and Olly Murs are among the artists that have announced they'll be back on the road next year in a bid to lift the nation's spirits amid the pandemic.

Gary, 49, is gearing up to remind fans what he sounds like as he announced a headline UK arena tour for 2021.

Gary - along with special guest act Beverley Knight - will be playing 15 shows in 13 cities around the UK and Ireland.

The Take That frontman is set to kickstart his tour in Liverpool on June 2, and finish up in London with two nights at the O2 Arena on June 24-25.

Gary's latest musical venture - his upcoming fifth solo studio album Music Played by Humans - is set to be released on November 27 it marks his first solo album in seven years.

He's set to play some new tracks from the album whilst on tour.

Speaking ahead of the tour, he said: "I love performing. I've missed it so much. I'm excited to think about how the new songs on the album will sound live and with an audience!

"I'm just really looking forward to getting out there and seeing everyone again."

Gary previously toured the UK solo in 2018 when he performed in theatres across the country.

The tour proved to be a sensational hit as tickets sold out in just 24 hours.

More recently he's been performing with his Take That crew as they supported their greatest hits from the album Odyssey.

Tickets for the solo tour go on sale at 9:30am on Friday, October 9 via Ticketmaster and axs.com.

Meanwhile Olly couldn't wait to get stuck in with tours again, announcing that he's got his own one next summer.

His tour is set to kick off in Swansea in early June and will take him all across the UK, finishing up at Colchester Castle park on August 29.

Olly has said he is very excited for the tour, especially about coming home to Essex to play for his home crowd.

He said: "I can't tell you how excited I am to announce this tour. It's been such a tough year for everyone and I can't wait to get back out on the road and entertain my fans.

"To finish the tour in my home town will be the perfect way to sign off the summer. We're definitely going to be celebrating in Colchester next August."
