Michelle Keegan has made her feelings about Essex going back into lockdown very clear.

The government has announced the actress' adopted home of Essex will have to abide by Tier 2 lockdown restrictions from Saturday morning.

The former Coronation Street star, 33, took to Instagram on Thursday evening to express her thoughts on the matter.

Sitting in a slump on her sofa, the brunette beauty appeared pretty annoyed as she cast a scowl across her face.

Alongside her latest pic, she suggested she's had had quite enough of this year.

“Dear 2020... that is all. Bye x” she wrote, alongside a giant emoji of a middle finger.

Dressed in a pale pink hoodie, Michelle looked cosy as she cuddled up indoors ahead of the second lockdown this year.

This week Health Secretary Matt Hancock accepted Essex County Council's request to move the area into a high-risk tier.

The change means that from midnight on Friday, Essex residents will be banned from socialising indoors with members of other households.

Following the announcement, Essex diva Gemma Collins took to Instagram to detail her reaction after being dealt with the "horrible news".

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the 39-year-old Towie star revealed she was so shocked after watching the news that she broke her diet and rushed to McDonald’s to gobble some comfort food.

Gemma, who has shed a whopping three stone during lockdown, insisted that chicken nuggets and chips were the only things that would cure her shock.

"Right guys, I've not been on the Gram much lately personally but I've just had to take to the Gram because with the stress of the new announcement I've just had to get McDonald's,” she said on her stories.

"Me and Sid are in shock, ain't we Sid?

"So it's drove me to have chicken nuggets and chips, panic eating! Guys I hope you're all having a good day, I thought I'd share how I'm feeling with you - better to share it!

"And I love you all and let's just do what we need to be doing and just hopefully these chicken nuggets will get me over the shock."

Gemma later hit the town in London for one last big night out with her friends.

Under the new rules, people in London and Essex won't be able to meet with anyone outside their household or support bubbles either at home or in a public setting.

The rule of six still applies outdoors.

Pubs and restaurants will remain open with the 10pm curfew still in place.
