Fern Britton confessed it was easier to forgive enemies in her latest cryptic post.

Earlier this week, the TV presenter opened up about betrayal in love following the breakdown of her 20-year marriage to Phil Vickery.

Now former This Morning star, 63, has taken to Twitter again to share her true feelings on forgiveness on Saturday.

The mother expressed she feels it's easier to forgive enemies than friends in a mysterious post.

She wrote in a message to her 76.5k followers: "Thought for the day: it’s easier to forgive your enemies than it is to forgive your friends."

Shockwaves went through the showbiz circuit when Fern made the candid admission about betrayal in love this week.

The bombshell re-posted the thoughtful post on her Twitter page on Tuesday.

Reflecting on the post about betrayal in love, Fern added the comment: "Thankyou for posting this. Whoever wrote this KNOWS ! Xx."

She elaborated: "This fits so perfectly xxx."

The original tweet which she retweeted read: "In life, you will fall out with people that you never thought you would. Get betrayed by people you trusted with all of your heart. Get used by people you would do anything for. But life also has a beautiful side to it.

"You will get loved by someone you never thought you would have. Form new friendships with people that will establish more meaningful and stronger relationships. And overcome things you never thought you would get over.

"We all have chapters that end with people at some point in life. But take pride in knowing that the very best part of your book is still being written."

Fern surprised fans when she announced her 20-year marriage to Phil was over earlier this year.

The couple had been a power couple on the showbiz circuit for 20 years.

They have their daughter Winnie together who turned 18 earlier this year.

Fern also has three children - Harry, 26, Jack, 26, and Grace, 23 - from her first marriage to Clive Jones.

The newly-single star has been focusing on her writing and her latest book Daughters of Cornwall has since hit the shelves.

In June, the author got candid about her "sad" split from her ex-husband Phil during an interview on daytime TV.

She told Lorraine: "Unfortunately, Phil and I fell apart. And I had this book to write this book and get it out on the deadline..."

She added: "We separated at the beginning of the year and fortunately it's all smooth.
