Lisa Marie Presley's ex has expressed concerns that she may relapse in the wake of her son Benjamin Keough's death.
Michael Lockwood has claimed that there are fears that 52-year-old Lisa, who is the daughter of Elvis Presley, is on a downward spiral after her son took his own life.
The Blast has reported that in court documents filed by Lockwood ahead of his divorce and custody trial against Lisa on August 3, he has worries for his 11-year-old twin daughters, Harper and Finley, who live with Lisa.
Their marriage fell apart in 2016 but the details are only just about to be thrashed out in court, with Lockwood claiming that recent events have raised "new and significant concern" over Lisa relapsing.
Lockwood reportedly states in the documents: "Lisa Marie Presley's son shot and killed himself in her home (Although she was not there at the time.)
"With all due sympathy and respect, this creates a new and unaddressed twofold problem: the safety of the children and the greater likelihood of [Presley] to relapse into drug and alcohol dependency."
Lisa Marie has previously opened up about her past addiction to painkillers and opioids, saying that she was "grateful to be alive today."
She wrote at the time: "You may read this and wonder how, after losing people close to me, I also fell prey to opioids.
"I was recovering after the [2008] birth of my daughters, [Harper] Vivienne and Finley, when a doctor prescribed me opioids for pain.
"It only took a short-term prescription of opioids in the hospital for me to feel the need to keep taking them."
Lisa Marie had seen first-hand how drugs had affected her father Elvis and the complications surrounding the death of her ex-husband, Michael Jackson.
Details of her previously privately held addictions came out in public when Lockwood revealed details of her sobriety in divorce papers.
Lisa Marie has previously claimed that it was her children that kept her sober but Lockwood is worried that she will fall off that wagon this time.
She wrote: "As I write this, I think of my four children, who gave me the purpose to heal."
This was in response to thinking about "the countless parents who have lost children to opioids and other drugs."
She continued: ""[I'm] grateful to be alive today… and to have four beautiful children who have given me a sense of purpose that has carried me through dark times."
Benjamin, 27, who Lisa Marie shared with ex-husband Danny Keough, died on July 12.
The death left Lisa Marie "completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated," according to her rep.
