Demi Lovato 's boyfriend Max Ehrich has popped the question.

The actor asked Demi to marry him five months after they met - but who is he? And where have we seen him before?

Here's everything you need to know about the man of Demi's dreams...

Max, 29, is an American singer, dancer and actor - a triple threat just like Demi.

He's best known for his roles as Fenmore Baldwin in soap The Young and the Restless, Hunter May in sci-fi mystery drama Under The Dome and Freddie Ridge in drama The Path.

Most recently, he starred as Tate in Netflix original film Walk Ride Rodeo, in which he also co-wrote and performed song Ride.

Max hails from New Jersey and landed his first film role in 2004's One Easy Job at the age of 13.

Just like Demi, who starred in Sonny With A Chance and the Camp Rock movies, he also has Disney credentials.

He was a principal dancer in High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

He later moved into television when he took up a recurring guest role in season three of Ugly Betty.

As well as Disney, he's starred in a Nickelodeon production as well, playing Adam in iCarly TV movie iStart A Fan War.

Max was nominated for a Daytime Emmy award in 2013, when he was tipped for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Fenmore in Young and the Restless.

And that's just one of a string of awards he's been nominated for over the years.

Max joined comedy drama American Princess in a recurring role last year.

Former Disney star and singer Demi, 27, took to Instagram today to reveal that she was engaged.

She shared a string of beautiful and loved-up pictures of them together on the beach, sporting a huge rock on her hand.

She wrote: "When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his “little partner” - something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent. To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner.

"@maxehrich - I knew I loved you the moment I met you.

"It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all.

"You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!

"Ps. THANK YOU @angelokritikos FOR HIDING BEHIND ROCKS AND CAPTURING THE ENTIRE THING!!! I love you boo!!!"

Max also shared the happy news on his Instagram, writing: "Ahhhh You are every love song, every film, every lyric, every poem, everything I could ever dream of and then some in a partner in life.

"Words cannot express how infinitely in love with you I am forever and always and then some. I cannot spend another second of my time here on Earth without the miracle of having you as my wife. here’s to forever baby

"ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh jeuejfjqjweuvu I’m so excited you are the most beautiful inside and out in the entire world & I couldn’t be more grateful God brought us together
