Ellen DeGeneres has spent time with one of her biggest supporters during her current career crisis amid allegations of abuse behind-the-scenes of her show.
The 62-year-old comedian has been spotted having lunch with Hollywood actor Kevin Hart, 41, after he gave a passionate defence of the TV star while accusations about the 'toxic' atmosphere on The Ellen DeGeneres Show were flying.
Ellen met up for lunch with Kevin at Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, California, over a week after the he defended her while an investigation was launched into the workplace culture on her daytime show.
As the sun beamed down on them, Ellen and Kevin brought their own version of sunshine to the occasion with their tropical-print tops as they discussed life and other issues.
Kevin had publicly stood up for Ellen earlier in the month as he dubbed her "one of the dopest people on the f***ing planet."
He wrote on Instagram : "She has treated my family and team with love and respect from day 1.
"The internet has become a crazy world of negativity... we are falling in love with peoples down fall. It’s honestly sad.”
Kevin ended his supportive message by saying that he was not looking to "disregard the feelings of others and their experiences" but to "show what my experiences have been with my friend. Love you for life Ellen."
Ellen and Kevin have a history of standing by each other after she spoke out in defence of him after the actor quit hosting the Oscars in 2019 following the unearthing of homophobic tweets.
After he apologised for what he had posted years previously, Ellen had him on her show and said that as a member of the LGBTQ community, she accepted his apology.
Ellen has been under-fire from former employees, who have accused her of standing by as members of her staff suffered abuse from others.
Warner Bros. launched an investigation and have said in a statement previously that "dozens of current and former employees" had been interviewed and that they were "disappointed that the primary findings of the investigation indicated some deficiencies related to the show's day-to-day management."
Changes have been made to staff and work practices since the investigation and the production company concluded their statement by saying: "Warner Bros. and Ellen DeGeneres are all committed to ensuring a workplace based on respect and inclusion. We are confident this course of action will lead us to the right way forward for the show."
