Ellen DeGeneres has addressed various rumours about her behaviour as new details about her video conference call with staff have emerged.

The 62-year-old embattled talk show host had already revealed that three producers on her shows had been given the boot, after accusations of abuse and sexual misconduct behind-the-scenes.

Ellen has been hit by former employees who have accused her of 'sitting by' as the 'toxic' atmosphere on her shows continued to get worse.

She has now taken the bull by the horns and has addressed several rumours about her behaviour and told staff that it is "untrue" that she does not invite eye contact.

PageSix has reported that Ellen opened up to her 200 employees, telling them that she is "introverted" and that she has "good days and bad days."

Ellen also slammed the rumour that there was an unspoken rule that no staff members were allowed to have eye contact with her.

It has been reported that Ellen told staff: "I don't know where it started. Please talk to me. Look me in the eye."

She described the rumour as "insane" and said: "It's crazy, just not true, I don't know how it started. [It's] not who I am."

Former producer Neil Breed was one of those who have worked on her shows that came out and spoke about her 'difficult nature'.

Speaking on radio station 4BC in July, Neil revealed: "[Ellen DeGeneres'] producers called us aside... and said, 'Now, Neil, no one is to talk to Ellen. You don't talk to her, you don't approach her, you don't look at her.'"

He added: "She'll come in, she'll sit down, she'll talk to Richard and then Ellen will leave. And I sort of said, 'I can't look at her?' I found the whole thing bizarre."

Ellen also explained why she sometimes wants time alone on the set and why that might come across as her being stand-offish.

She reportedly said: "Does that mean I'm perfect? No. I'm not. I'm a multi-layered person, and I try to be the best person I can be and try to learn from my mistakes."
