EastEnders' Elaine Lordan looks healthy on jog 2 years after glugging wine in street

Former EastEnders star Elaine Lordan, 53, looked fit and healthy as she was seen heading out for a jog two years on from being pictured downing wine in the street

Former EastEnders star Elaine Lordan was looking great as she headed out jogging with her husband.

Two years after she was pictured downing wine in the street, the 53-year-old looked fit and healthy while getting some lockdown exercise.

Elaine, who played Kat Slater's sister Lynne Hobbs in the BBC soap, and her husband Peter Manuel were spotted pounding the pavement in North London as they got in their daily exercise.

The star looked healthy in a pair of black sports leggings and a grey and black panelled zip-up jacket to help fight off the cold.

She wore headphones over her ears, perhaps listening to some motivational music to help push her along her route.

Peter, dressed in shorts, a T-shirt and jacket ran alongside her as they made their way down the street.

It's clear Elaine has come a long way since 2018, when she was seen finishing off a miniature bottle of wine as she wondered down the street in broad daylight.

She was pictured walking along the street, wrapped up in a parka coat, hat and scarf.

Elaine was sadly banned from EastEnders back in 2004 after suffering with alcoholism.

She had worked as an aerobics instructor for 10 years before landing the role in 2000.

She had some big storylines and made a name for herself as one of the key characters in the soap, but sadly it was short lived and she was fired from the soap.

A source said at the time: "It was decided to make the changes after she had a few problems with drinking. It has been done to help her rather than to punish her."

Despite losing her role in EastEnders, Elaine's career was far from over.

She went on to star in sitcom Gimme Gimme Gimme as main character Linda's sister Sugar Walls and signed up to be a campmate in the 2005 series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Sadly Elaine passed out twice during her first day in the jungle and was later removed from the show.

It was a difficult year for her, with her mum having died by suicide just months before she went into the jungle.

Tragedy struck again for Elaine just months later when her one-year-old son James who she shared with husband Peter, died after having surgery for diaphragmatic hernia.

Her spokeswoman said at the time: "Elaine, Pete and their family and friends are devastated at their loss and request that they are given time to deal with what is an incredibly sad time."

James' condition meant his diaphragm had not fully formed and therefore part of the muscle separating the abdominal organs from the chest cavity was missing.

The misplaced organs put pressure on the lungs, preventing them from developing normally.
