Amy Walsh and Toby Alexander Smith discuss 'tough' birth in March
EastEnders star Toby-Alexander Smith has announced his engagement to Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh in a sweet post on Instagram.
The 31-year-old actor, who played villain Gray Atkins in the BBC soap, popped the question Amy, 34, who plays Tracy Metcalfe in the Yorkshire-based soap.
The pair beamed wide smiles in a snap they posted on social media as Amy flashed her engagement ring.
The post was captioned: "So this happened… [ring emoji, praying hands emoji and red heart emoji]
Amy also shared a set of photos of herself with her new fiance on the evening he popped the question, captioning it: "Before. During. After."

The last image of her collection sees Amy showing off her diamond engagement ring.
The happy couple were soon inundated with messages in the comments of their Instagram posts, with Amy's sister Kimberley Walsh, of Girls Aloud fame, being among the first to congratulate the pair.
On Toby's post, she wrote: "Too exciting!!!! [six red heart emoji]"
Kimberley then commented on her sister's post: "The best news"
Other soap stars from Emmerdale and EastEnders also shared the congratulations, with Michelle Hardwick, who plays Vanessa in the Dales, writing: "Gorgeous couple"
Danielle Harold who plays Lola on Albert Square added: "congratulations you guys xx"
Tony Clay, who plays Callum in EastEnders, commented: "Love this! Congrats mate!! x"
The engagement announcement comes after Amy and Toby welcomed a baby daughter in January, named Bonnie Mae.
Speaking about the name when she announced it, Amy said: "Whenever we hypothetically talked about our family, we always said 'our little Bonnie'. When she came, she couldn’t have been more of a Bonnie."
Toby added that this was not the first Bonnie in the family, joking: "My parents had two King Charles spaniels and one was called Bonnie – but that had no part in it!"
Amy added: "Her middle name is Mae. We wanted something with one syllable that went with her first name and surname, Smith."
