Dragon Age 4 Team Is Still Working On The Game From Home According To BioWare Executive Producer

For many, BioWare has a lot riding on the upcoming Dragon Age 4.

The developer fell flat on its face with the release of Anthem, which was meant to be one of the central pillars holding the EA-owned studio afloat for years to come.

On top of that, the most recent entry into the Mass Effect saga, Mass Effect Andromeda, was originally supposed to launch a whole new series of Mass Effect games, which is seems are never to see the light of day.

So with Anthem and Mass Effect on the backburner, and seemingly no Star Wars titles on the horizon, it seems as though Dragon Age 4 is where the hopes and dreams of many longtime BioWare fans lie.

The game was first announced in 2018, but since then there has been no word on it, save for some very vague mentions.

Many were starting to worry that there was trouble in store for BioWare’s fantasy epic RPG series.

However, BioWare executive producer Mark Darrah took to Twitter recently to put those fears to bed.

“I realize that most of you are here for Dragon Age news and there hasn’t been a lot of that lately,” he said in his tweet. “Let me just run down some things I can say. We are working on the next Dragon Age. Yes, we are working from home. Working from home is harder. We are making progress.”

The responses to this tweet seemed to be mostly positive, with many wishing the BioWare team good health.

The reference to working from home is clearly due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has swept through the world, making it impossible for game developers to congregate in offices like they once could.

So, now we know that work is still underway on BioWare’s latest foray into the world of Dragon Age, but the question also becomes when are we going to get our first look at it?

Dragon Age Inquisition released back in 2014, and we’ve seen nothing of Dragon Age 4 in the six years that have followed its predecessor.

We did get one very small teaser, which amounted to nothing more than a piece of artwork and a voice over.

Then, when EA did its recent press conference announcing its upcoming slate, other than a passing screenshot of an environment, Dragon Age was not touched on whatsoever.

We’re not even sure as to the working title of this game. Many are calling it Dragon Age 4, due to it being the fourth release for this series, but Dragon Age Inquisition was not called Dragon Age 3.

Despite this announcement, with no trailer, no clips, and no title, it’s unlikely that this game is coming anytime soon.
