Dominic West’s wife speaks out to insist marriage is ‘fine’ after Lily scandal

Dominic West 's wife has broken her silence to insist that their marriage is "fine" after he was pictured kissing actress Lily James in Rome.

The couple have put on a united front ever since, even holding a press call outside their home and handing over a handwritten note that said their marriage is as strong as ever.

Weeks on, Catherine FitzGerald is still standing firmly by her husband's side and says she doesn't need to hear advice from anybody.

The 49-year-old told MailOnline : "We're fine, thank you very much, yes we are. Things are OK between us. We don't need any advice from anyone, thank you."

It comes after her friends said she was determined to make their marriage work and avoid getting a divorce.

It was last month when Dominic, 51, was pictured kissing Lily, 31, in what appeared to be a romantic dinner date in Rome.

He wasn't wearing his wedding ring in the photographs.

After the images emerged, Dominic and Catherine put on a show of unity outside their home, telling members of the press: "Our marriage is strong and we're very much still together."

And it seems they're more determined than ever to make things work.

A friend of Catherine's told the publication: "Yes, Catherine was devastated and humiliated by the pictures of Dom with Lily. And it's well documented and clear what his views on infidelity are.

"It may surprise a lot of people but that doesn't mean their marriage is close to ending. They have had some difficult discussions but are still very much together."

Catherine's mother Olda also shared a gushing tribute to her son-in-law.

The FitzGerald family's Glin Castle Instagram account shared a picture of Dominic and Catherine from a previous shoot they did with Architectural Digest.

Olda commented on it on Thursday: "My eldest daughter and my darling son-in-law who both work so hard to keep me in clover!

"How lucky am I? Hooray darlings congrats on sweet photo."
