Dolly Parton is widely considered a musical hero by millions of fans, but she became a little girl's real life hero on the set of her Netflix film Christmas On The Square.
Talia Hill, nine, a child actress who appears in the festive film, said the Jolene singer, 74, saved her life during filming.
She explained that she didn't realise a car was driving towards her and Dolly quickly yanked her out of the way.
Talia told Inside Edition : "We were on set, and I was at the hot chocolate station, and they said go back to your beginning positions.
"So there was a vehicle moving, and I was walking, and then somebody grabbed me and pulled me back, and I looked up and it was Dolly Parton."
Talia said she was in "shock" when she realised who had saved her.
Dolly then told her: "'Well, I am an angel, you know,' 'cause she plays an angel in the movie."
Talia, whose brothers Tristan and Tyson Hill also star in the film, added: "[Parton] hugged me and shook me and said, 'I saved your life.'"
She went on: "And my mom was crying, like, 'Yes you did, Dolly Parton, yes you did.'"
Christmas on the Square debuted on Netflix last month.
It follows the story of wealthy Regina Fuller, played by Christine Baranski, returning to her hometown to evict the residents and sell the land to a developer.
Dolly plays an angel in the film and her songs are featured on the soundtrack
