Dermot O'Leary has wedding ring stolen as police hunt for thief

Dermot O'Leary has revealed that he had his wedding ring stolen as he worked out in a gym in West London

Dermot O'Leary has revealed that he's had his wedding ring stolen.

The TV presenter, 47, took to Twitter to share the news as he appealed for anyone with information to contact the police.

He has been married to producer and director Dee Koppang since 2012 and the pair welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Kasper, earlier this year.

His ring was engraved with his wedding date, September 14th 2012, and 'Team KO', a reference to him and his wife.

Westminster Police said the ring and his bag were stolen as he worked out in a gym in West London.

The force posted a picture of the suspect from CCTV footage as they appealed for information on his identity.

Dermot tweeted: "Sadly this was my wedding ring & bag that was stolen.

"I'm sure I won't see them again, but I'd really like it if he didn't have the opportunity to steal yours.

"Please have a good look at the picture & if you recognise him call 101 ref 6195/21aug Dx @MPSWestminster @metpoliceuk."

He shared the police force's post about the crime and their picture of the suspect.

The police tweeted: "Do you recognise this man?

"We wish to speak to him re theft of a bag from a gym in Mortimer Street W1 on 13 Aug.

"Items stolen include a wedding ring etched on inner side with '14/9/12 Team KO'.

"Pls call police on 101 ref 6195/21aug with any info about the man or the stolen ring."

Dermot also shared an appeal on his Instagram account.

Alongside the picture of the suspect, he wrote: "PLEASE SHARE... I know there are more important things happening in the world right now, but last week my bag (with my wedding ring in it) was stolen from a locked locker at 'Psycle' on Mortimer St. London.

"I'm not after any special preferential treatment.

"I'm not the victim of a violent crime, and even though no-one should have to - I can handle all the impersonal items being stolen (the wallet, phone, watch, keys etc.) but this man stole my wedding ring & gold crucifix.

"Something that would mean nothing to him - but everything to me.

"I've made peace with the knowledge that I'll probably never see these cherished items again, but I'd really like it if you, your loved ones, or anyone else you know, didn't have to go through the same ordeal of having your personal items stolen by this man."

He then appealed for anyone with more information about the suspect to contact the police.

Dermot continued: "Please share, retweet and get his face everywhere, so he doesn't get to steal your most treasured possessions.
