Dancing On Ice's Rufus Hound confirms he's split from wife after 13 years of marriage

Rufus Hound has confirmed he's split from his wife just days after the comedian was announced as a contestant for the 2021 series of Dancing On Ice

Rufus Hound has announced that he has separated from his wife after 13-years of marriage.

The relationship breakdown comes just days after the comedian was announced as a contestant for the 2021 series of Dancing On Ice.

Rufus, 41, has enjoyed over a decade of happy memories with his wife Beth Johnson after the pair tied the knot in 2007.

The now separated couple also share two children together.

The Celebrity Juice star took to Twitter on Friday evening to break the news to his loyal fanbase.

In an emotional statement, Rufus revealed that he and Beth made the difficult decision to part ways in April – during the height of lockdown.

"In April, Beth and I made the sad decision to end our marriage," he began.

"We will always have much love and respect for each other.

"Even though we are separated we will always remain best friends.

“And, as always, our family will remain our number one priority."

Rufus and Beth tied the knot just four months after first meeting in 2007 at Reading Festival.

The former lovebirds married in Vegas's Little White Wedding Chapel.

The split comes just days after Rufus was confirmed for the highly anticipated next series of Dancing On Ice.

Lifting the lid on his dancing skills, an insider told The Sun that viewers can expect one hell of a show from the funny man.

The telly insider stated: " Dancing On Ice are putting together one of their most eclectic line-ups ever and bosses are delighted to have got Rufus onboard.

"He’s not going to play it safe - on the show or on the ice. The next series is certainly not going to be light on entertainment."

Rufus boasts an array of comedy and stage appearances.

His TV credits include ITV staple Celebrity Juice and current affairs quiz show, Have I Got News For You.
