Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have Free DLC After Launch, CD Projekt Red Confirms On Twitter

CD Projekt Red is a developer known for their amazing post-launch DLC content. They know that how a game releases is important, but so is the way it’s supported months after.

This mindset is pretty evident with one of their more successful projects, The Witcher 3. It’s one of the best-selling RPGs to date, a testament to the developer adding one DLC after another. The packs consisted of things like armor, collectibles, and new quests.

Now that CD Projekt Red is hard at working putting the finishing touches on Cyberpunk 2077, many have wondered if it would receive the same DLC treatment that The Witcher 3 did.

CD Projekt Red has never been one to keep fans waiting in suspense so when asked about DLC content from an interested Twitter user, they responded with an emphatic yes! Alas, Cyberpunk 2077 — which already looks like a massive game and extremely detailed — will be getting plenty of DLC that players don’t have to pay anything for.

That’s quite the statement CD Projekt Red is making ahead of this RPG’s November launch. It just shows what type of experiences they’re interested in providing die-hard fans and those perhaps picking up one of their games for the first time.

They believe gaming isn’t just about making a profit. It’s important — yes — for the developer to keep the lights on, but the actual practice of enjoying games is what truly counts. CD Projekt Red wants Cyberpunk 2077 being one of the best games ever and they plan on achieving this lofty goal by keeping fans happy with regular content.

As if there weren’t enough reasons to get excited about Cyberpunk 2077, this latest news reassures fans that the developer is working on something truly special. From the plethora of customizations players can perform to their characters to the jaw-dropping openness of Night City, there isn’t a glaring weakness at this point in development.

It seems perfect in every way and that’s certainly saying something for a major AAA game. It’s unfortunate that the game couldn’t come out as soon as the developer originally planned, but the waiting and suspense seem worth it at the end of the day.

CD Projekt Red didn’t want to rush anything just to meet a particular date. They want Cyberpunk 2077 coming through perfectly in each department and that’s something fans should be stoked about. If this game wasn’t on your list of most anticipated games of 2020, it should be now.
