Curtis Pritchard’s pals say cheating claims ‘a smear campaign by Maura Higgins’

Curtis Pritchard's friends says claims he cheated with Amber Pierson are a 'smear campaign' by bitter ex Maura Higgins.

She is said to be livid after seeing her old boyfriend kissing the woman he was accused of going behind her back with.

The 29-year-old, who dated professional dancer Curtis after they met on Love Island, has reportedly told friends that she should have "trusted her gut" after rumours that Curtis had strayed - accusations he denies.

But now pal of Curtis say she is waging war against him.

The MailOnline report that the stories are trying to 'divert' speculation of Maura's rumoured romance with Dancing On Ice partner Alexander Demetriou.

Alexander and wife Carlotta Edwards split up earlier this year.

Now Curtis' friends have spoken and says there this is an on-going campaign to damage the star's reputation.

They said" "Maura and Alex both swore nothing was going on, yet Alex split from his wife soon after the show finished in suspicious circumstances which got everyone taking.

"We all know the truth that there was overlap of him beginning to see Amber.

"They toured together without any form of spark, it was only afterwards that this occurred.

"Any suggestion otherwise is just a smear campaign by Maura to cause harm to Curtis and cause him further upset and hurt.

"The truth will all come out in time, but we all back Curtis and support his version of events. Those in glass houses shouldn't throw bricks!"

Just hours after the pictures of Curtis and Amber emerged, Maura took to Twitter with the cryptic message: "The truth always comes out in the end."

Curtis has previously hit back at claims that he was unfaithful to Maura with Amber, and she also spoke out against the reports, calling them a "complete lie".

In the images published by The Sun, Curtis wrapped his arm around fellow professional dancer Amber and leaned in for a kiss.
