Cuba Gooding Jr accused of raping a woman twice in New York hotel in 2013

Actor Cuba Gooding Jr has been accused of rape in a civil lawsuit after meeting a woman at a Greenwich Village VIP lounge before heading back to a hotel together

Cuba Gooding Jr has been accused of raping a woman twice in a New York hotel room in 2013.

The new allegation was made in a civil lawsuit that was filed in Manhattan federal court on Tuesday.

Her accusation is strenuously denied by the Oscar-winning actor's lawyer.

The 52-year-old is alleged to have met the woman at a Greenwich Village VIP lounge but Mark Heller, who is representing Cuba has said in a statement that that "alleged event never took place".

Speaking about the allegations, Cuba's lawyer added: "My client is totally innocent of any of these false allegations and we're confident it will be dismissed.

"She's probably just somebody who's looking for some glory to bask in the publicity and notoriety of Cuba Gooding Jr's case."

The woman, identified only as 'Jane Doe' in the civil suit, alleges that she met the actor at a bar in Manhattan in August 2013 and was invited to join him for drinks at a hotel nearby.

She alleges that Cuba invited her up to his hotel room, where he said he needed to change his clothes. She then claims the star raped her.

According to the civil suit, Cuba put on music when they arrived in the room before taking off her clothes and pinning her down by her arms before sexually assaulting and raping her twice.

The woman allegedly told the actor no "numerous times but he wouldn't stop", according to the suit.

She has since been left with "emotional pain, suffering, and a loss of enjoyment of life" after the 2013 attacks, the court papers revealed.

The actor is currently facing other claims from women, all of which he denies.

This fresh claims comes after he appeared pleaded not guilty to six charges of forcible touching and sexual abuse in nightclubs in the city in 2018.

If he is convicted, Cuba faces up to 12 months behind bars, while state prosecutors have said more than two dozen women have made allegations against the actor since he was first accused.
