Coronation Street 's Maureen Lipman was seen joining her co-stars in the pub for a boozy session in the beer garden after work.

The actress was pictured heading to the Dockyard Pub on Mediacity in Salford Quays, Manchester - close to wear the soap is filmed.

Maureen, 74, who plays Evelyn Plummer in the show, was seen picking up a drink and heading outside to where her co-stars were sitting on wooden benches.

She was seen chatting to co-stars including Mikey North and Sam Robertson who were among the group sitting outdoors enjoying a drink in the sunshine.

Telly veteran Maureen wore a face mask, but was seen pulling it down around her chin as she nursed her drink - a move that experts have advised against as it could spread germs from the neck to the nose and mouth.

She also wore gloves and carried a bag of life on her arm.

Maureen was seen charring with Sam and Mikey and other members of the group, who sat outside with their drinks.

Sam was pictured with a beer in front of him and his facemask lying on the table.

Maureen recently opened up about her difficult experience in lockdown as she was unable to isolate with her partner Guido Castro due to his health problems.

It meant the couple had to been kept apart.

She told Prima magazine: "Guido and I have been apart recently – we couldn’t self-isolate together because of his health – but I feel lucky that we have that."

She added of her man: "I haven’t always been the best wife, mother or lover – I think I’m a bit hit and miss – but I recognise a good man when I see him."

"The secret to maintaining things is not letting go of the basic spark that brought you together.

"It’s like when you meet your best friends from school.

"You might have nothing in common now, but that essence is still there and you laugh at the same things because of it."

Maureen joined Corrie in 2018 as Evelyn.
