Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd was in for a surprise when his lavish vehicle was clamped close to his home.

The 32-year-old's luxury black Mustang - said to be worth around £41,000 - was pictured with a yellow clamp wrapped around the tyre in Manchester's city centre on Monday.

As well as having the clamp fitted around the front tyre, officials also slapped the car with a huge red sticker that warned people not to remove the notice.

The clamp was fitted by Manchester City Council and costs about £40 to be released.

According to the council website, motorists risk being clamped if they are persistent offenders, disregard parking and bus lanes or if the car is unregistered or untaxed.

A representative for the Coronation Street actor has been contacted by Mirror Online for comment.

Jack has been the proud owner of the fancy black Mustang since 2017 and is frequently spotted taking his pride and joy for a spin.

It comes shortly after the actor opened up about plans to marry his long term girlfriend, Hanni Treweek.

The couple, who have been dating for over three years, appear to have gone from strength to strength and even been spending lots of time together during the lockdown.

The pair recently appeared on Loose Women together via a video call during which Jack teased that an engagement could be on the cards.

"We fell in love quite quickly, we clicked and were on the same page. I think we’d like to [get married] in the future," Hanni told the panelists.

Jack suggested that they had talked about their future together, and felt that it was an important topic to discuss with his partner.

He said: "I think it’s only sensible to have those sort of conversations with a partner or someone that you’re dating… after a few months or as soon as you know it’s serious."

The actor was then egged on to propose on air and while he refrained from dropping to one knee, he promised that the Loose Women cast would be the first to know.
