Corey Feldman Says He Was Honored To Be Part Of The Goonies Script Read As Over $130,000 Was Raised For No Kid Hungry — How To Donate

Corey Feldman brought his The Goonies character Mouth back to life during a Warner Brothers, celebrity-studded virtual reunion and script read. The fundraising event for No Kid Hungry was held on December 5, 2020, at 5 p.m./PT, 8 p.m. ET on multiple streaming platforms including Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok. The live stream aired on the Warner Brothers YouTube page where it remains for all to view. Donations were placed during the live event and currently, more than $138,000 was raised. Donations are still being accepted.

Much of the original cast took part including Sean Astin who played Mikey, Josh Brolin as Brand, Jeff Cohen as Chunk, Kerri Green as Andy, Martha Plimpton as Stef, and Ke Huy Quan as Data.

Sadly, some of the original Goonies cast passed away and their parts were played by amazing actors.

The Fratelli family was played by original cast members Richard Davi as Jake and Joe Pantoliano as Francis. Anne Ramsey passed away and the role of Mama Fratelli was read by Jean Smart.

Kristen Bell read the part of Mrs. Walsh, Chunk’s mother, and the second reporter. Zach Braff read the part of Mr. Walsh, the prison guard, Chunk’s father, Bill, and Troy’s friend #1.

Donald Faison read the parts of Mr. Perkins, the sheriff, Data’s father, Mouth’s father, Announcer Vo, and Troy’s friend #2.

The original role of Sloth was played by John Matuszak who passed away in 1989. For the live reading, Sloth was played by superfan, actor, and Goonies for life Josh Gad.

Cristela Alonza read the parts of Rosalita, the first reporter, cooking show VO, and the little sister. Dick Donner read for the first cop and Derek Hoffman read for the second cop.

The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes narrated the script reading.

Corey Feldman spoke to Celebrity Insider’s Charisse Van Horn and stated the following about the Goonies live script read.

I’m honored to be a part of something that raised much needed money for much needed efforts. I’m elated we hit the mark and then surpassed it heavily. What a thrill. At $1 per 10 meals that 1.5 Million Meals right? So grateful to everyone.

Continuing, Corey Feldman revealed that there were a few technical difficulties but that didn’t stop the show from going on — or being a success! Donations are still being accepted and the original goal of raising $100,000 for No Kid Hungry was moved up to $150,000!

Corey Feldman stated the following.

It was a nerve-wracking experience doing live theater for the entire world with little to no rehearsals, due to the heavy amount of props, costumes, and tech involved. The public didn’t know I had a massive tech breakdown five minutes before we went live. But we pulled it off, and what a pleasure working alongside such terrific actors again for such a noble cause.
