Colin Jost Says He Didn’t Want To Become Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Arm Candy’

According to Colin Jost, being overshadowed by his notorious actress fiancée, Scarlett Johansson, was a serious concern for him. During a new episode of The Howard Stern Show on SiriusXM, the SNL alum shared how he was nervous about his romance with Scarlett Johansson, and how her star power would affect his own.

Put simply, the actor was worried he would simply become an accessory in the eyes of the entertainment industry and her fans. He claimed it was a concern for him for not only his identity but also his comedy as well.

According to the Saturday Night Live star, the thing about comedy is that it’s crucial to always “do your own thing.” Fans of the couple know that the 38-year-old SNL alum and the 35-year-old actress first met when she was a host of one episode of SNL.

They first started dating in 2017 but got engaged in May of 2019. The news didn’t come as a surprise to their fans because sources had previously explained things were going so well between them.

When asked by Howard if he ever got jealous when Scarlett had to do s*x scenes in movies, he claimed the issue hasn’t come up yet. The comedian went on to joke that he was going to push her into animated films and series, “all voice work,” the comic joked.

According to a source, Jost and Scarlett have been going strong ever since they first started dating each other back in 2017. However, as Jost has publicly admitted, there have been times of uncertainty and difficulty.

Of course, Scarlett is a lot more famous than he is, so the potential for her own fame to affect his own is present. On the other hand, however, it could go in the totally opposite direction.

For instance, Pete Davidson, following his relationship with Ariana Grande, found himself in the headlines a lot more after her appearence on Saturday Night Live and his subsequent romance with her. After they dated, Pete became a target of attention.
