Coleen Rooney accuses Rebekah Vardy of deliberately sitting behind her at footie match

Legal documents filed as part of Coleen Rooney's libel battle with Rebekah Vardy accuse Jamie's wife of switching seats at a Euro 2016 game to sit behind Coleen and 'guarantee her appearance in the media'

Coleen Rooney has accused accused "publicity seeking" Rebekah Vardy of deliberately sitting behind her at a footie match to "guarantee her appearance in the media".

Wayne Rooney’s wife is preparing to head to the High Court to take on fellow Wag Rebekah, 38, who has sued her for libel over the Wagatha Christie row.

Coleen, 34, accused Rebekah's account of leaking stories from her private Instagram page to the press - a claim Rebekah has vehemently denied.

She's now suing Coleen for libel in a bid to clear her name.

Now in new documents filed as part of the suit, Coleen's team accuse the WAG of "publicity seeking behaviour".

They allege Rebekah switched seats at England's Euro 2016 clash with Wales so she could sit behind Wayne Rooney's wife.

The papers state: "Amongst her other publicity seeking behaviour, the Claimant [Vardy] sat behind the Defendant [Rooney] on the match of 16 June 2016, so that she would guarantee her appearance in the media.

"At that match, the Claimant had around five seats allocated to her in line with FA practice at the time.

"The Claimant refused to sit in her allocated seats in the circumstances below, instead choosing to sit by the Defendant.

"All of the seats allocated to the Claimant were several rows behind where she actually chose to sit.

"The rows directly behind the Defendant, where the Claimant and her guests sat, were in fact reserved for Football Association (“FA”) security.

"Ten minutes before the start of the match, the FA Liaison Officer told members of the Claimant’s party that they were not sitting in the correct seats and that the seats they were sitting in were specifically reserved for FA security.

"They were asked to move. The Claimant’s guests refused and were abusive to the liaison officer.

"As a result, FA security were forced to sit elsewhere."

Last year, Coleen sensationally accused Rebekah's account of being behind stories that were leaked from her private account - earning her the nickname Wagatha Christie for her online sleuthing.

She set up her own sting operation to catch whoever had been passing on information from her private page to the press.

She posted a series of fake stories, blocked all her followers apart from Rebekah's account and then sprung a gotcha post online when the hoax posts made their way into the papers.

Rebekah vehemently denied she was behind the leaks, insisting a number of people had access to her Instagram page.

After Coleen's post last October, Rebekah released a statement to strenuously deny she was behind the leak.

Rebekah wrote: "I wish you had called me if you thought this.

"I never speak to anyone about you as various journalists who have asked me to over the years can vouch for.

"I'm not being funny but I don't need the money, what would I gain from selling stories on you?...
