Christine McGuinness shared the heartbreaking update that she won't be able to see her mum for six months while she's battling breast cancer.
The 32-year-old admitted that her world had fallen apart when she discovered her mum’s devastating diagnosis earlier this month.
Now, Christine, who is married to comedian and presenter Paddy McGuiness, revealed that their three children are finding it difficult to adjust to the fact that they won’t be allowed to see their grandmother for six months as she begins shielding amid the ongoing pandemic.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, the blonde beauty shared that her youngsters Leo and Penelope, seven, and Felicity, four, are finding the separation tough, and that they are longing to cuddle their nanny.
Alongside a wholesome snap of her brave mum on a recent sunny stroll with the kids, Christine explained that her family are forbidden from visiting as she is about to undergo six months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The Liverpool native’s dear mum won’t be able to leave her home while shielding due to the fact that she is at an increased risk during the pandemic.
Christine captioned the sweet family snap: “Weekends aren't the same without nanny.
“My mum is a huge part of my children's routine and they just don't understand why they can't see nanny anymore.
“Lots of you have asked how she’s doing. She done amazing with her lumpectomy and is starting 6 months of chemotherapy and radio therapy next week.
“My mum has got to shield herself for at least 6 months. It’s awful, we can’t even give her a cuddle.”
Despite the heartbreaking situation, Christine has told that she’s trying her best to remain positive.
The former glamour model insisted that she’s beyond grateful that her mum is still here, and that she knows how lucky she is to be able to still call her on the phone.
“I miss her so much but I’m grateful she is alive, staying positive and ready to try her best. And she is always on the end of the phone.”
Christine finished off the emotional post by sending her love to anyone else who has found themselves affected by cancer during the current crisis.
“Sending love to anyone fighting cancer right now especially those going through it alone because of Covid.
“Praying this time passes as fast as possible.”
Following the touching post, the blonde beauty was showered with love and support from her adoring admirers who encouraged her to stay strong.
