Chrissy Teigen frantically deleted some of her previous tweets after suddenly discovering idol Hillary Clinton is now following her account.

The 34-year-old model had taken a month off the site to deal with her grief after losing her son Jack.

Chrissy and her husband John Legend had been praised for their bravery in sharing such an intimate and harrowing moment in their lives on social media last month.

As she returned to Twitter this week, Chrissy discovered that American politician Hillary, 73, had taken a real interest in her story and followed her account.

Hillary re-tweeted Chrissy's heartbreaking essay about her son's tragic stillbirth.

"Thank you, Chrissy Teigen, for your bravery and grace in starting a hard conversation to help other families heal alongside yours," the former First Lady penned.

The beauty then begged her not to look at some of the 'stupid' videos of her as she went on a deleting spree.

Chrissy cringed when she remembered she grumbled about the absence of a 'pretty' filter on Instagram.

She culled a number of past tweets - and hopes she got away with it.

She wrote: "Oh my god Hillary Clinton just tweeted my essay now I have to delete the stupid videos I just posted oh my god please dont look at them Hillary Clinton!"

She then wrote: "I’m so honored Hillary Clinton. You have dedicated your life to fighting for women’s and children’s health, so to have you share my piece about my experience means the absolute world to me. Wow. Wow."

Now, Chrissy has explained why they took to social media to document the tragic event.

In a blog post, she wrote: "I had no idea when I would be ready to write this. Part of me thought it would be early on, when I was still really feeling the pain of what happened.

"I thought I would sit in the corner of my bedroom with the lights dimmed, just rolling off my thoughts. I’d have a glass of red wine, cozy up with a blanket, and finally get the chance to address “what happened”."

She added: "I explained to a very hesitant John that I needed them, and that I did NOT want to have to ever ask. That he just had to do it. He hated it. I could tell. It didn’t make sense to him at the time.
